Equipment:
As
part of its commitment to meeting customer needs, Carson
Welding and Maintenance has developed an extensive
inventory of over 750 vehicles and specialized equipment.
By doing so, Carson Welding serves as a "one stop"
supplier of construction, safety, and environmental
apparatus. The company has set itself as a leader in
recognizing and meeting specialized equipment needs.
For instance, Carson Welding owned the first hydro-vac
truck in the Southeast, and set up the first GPS base
station in the area.
Other
examples include the purchase of a 20" CRC Bending
Machine for pipeline work and the acquisition of a computer
guided boring machine. As client needs change with time,
Carson Welding continues to update and expand its inventory.
Preventive Maintenance:
Carson Welding and Maintenance has implemented a computerized
Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure that all
of the vehicles and equipment used by employees are
in proper and safe operating condition.
The
program requires users to produce daily equipment condition
reports to the supervisors, who review them, to the
P.M. Coordinator, who manages the mechanics, partsmen
and field activity. The information is then placed on
a database, which provides management with information
on maintenance requirements and costs, as well as for
Occupational Health inquiries.
