QA and Safety: Quality Assurance
Carson Welding
has developed and implemented a Quality Assurance
system, which covers ASME (Pressure Vessel and Piping),
CWB (Structural) and CSA (Pipeline) welding. Safe work
procedures are an integral part of the QA program.
Canadian Welding Bureau
Certification
Carson Welding is registered with the Canadian
Welding Bureau, qualifying the company to CSA
W.47.1, Division 3. All of the company's qualified
welders are registered with the Canadian Welding
Bureau.
Registered Quality
Control Program
Carson Welding complies with the provisions of the Boiler
and Pressure Vessel Act and Regulations. The company is authorized
to fabricate pressure vessels, fittings and pressure piping,
and to repair and alter pressure vessels, fittings and pressure
piping in accordance with ASME Section V; VII Div I and II;
and IX; CSA B 51 and ASME/ANSI B31.1 and B31.3 and the Boiler
and Pressure Vessel Act and Regulations at their Lampman location
and field sites controlled from Lampman.

Manuals
- Carson Welding has a Saskatchewan Municipal Government -
Boiler Branch approved Quality Control Manual for the manufacture
and repair of pressure piping and vessels, as well as Pipeline
and Registered Weld Procedures to cover all types of carbon
and stainless steel welding.
- Carson Welding has a Pipeline Quality Control Manual that
follows CSA Z662.
- Carson Welding has an Internal Quality Assurance Manual
that is utilized on projects to ensure compliance with clients'
QC/QA requirements.
- The company also has developed a Safe Work Procedure Manual,
which details procedures designed to accomplish tasks in a
safe manner.
- Carson Welding has implemented Quality Management Principles
where applicable and justified, but is not ISO certified as
the certification is based on a single location and is not
appropriate for field fabrication.
- The company has a full-time Quality Control Manager as well
as a full-time Quality Control Coordinator to manage and meet
our QC programs.
- Welders, supervisors and designates are trained and oriented
to comply with our QC program as an ongoing part of company
practice.
Quality Control Inspection
In order to maintain the highest standards in
welding code assurance, Carson Welding employs
a Certified Engineering Technician who is a CWB
Level III Welding Inspector. This individual manages
the Quality Control pertaining to welding, and
ensures that all work meets all current standards
as set down by the government and relevant ASME
and CSA codes.
